The Bathurst
500 of 1968 was a significant year for Holden as it was the very first time
that the Holden Dealer Team had entered this race. While the Palmer/West team
drove to second placing, the '68 race laid the foundations for many famous
Ford v's Holden clashes in the decades to follow. |

HOLDEN EH Sedan The EH Holden, or affectionately known as just the "EH" by Holden enthusiasts, sold an incredible 257,000 cars in just 18 months after it was launched in August 1963. While the EH styling was derived from it's predecessor the EJ, it's brand new engine quickly gained market acceptance. The EH signalled the start of Holden's famous "red" six cylinder engine, that remained almost unchanged for over 20 years. Three levels of models were available under the EH banner; the Standard, Special and Premier. This luxury version offered leather seats, full carpeting, centre console, metallic paint and even a heater/demister! Even today the EH Holden is often described as the best Holden
ever. |
